Position Summary:

The PMO Project Manager/Analyst is primarily responsible for working collaboratively with Project Managers and other initiative leaders within the Global Information Service (GIS) organization, in order to ensure project adherence to appropriate levels of governance and methodologies. 

Experience and Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required.  Degree in Computer Science or related field preferred.  Advanced degrees and certifications a plus
  • 5 years of utilizing program management methodologies in successively more responsible leadership roles up to or including Project and Program Management required.
  • Healthcare industry experience preferred.

Technology Skills and Strengths:

  • Knowledge of the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Agile (SCRUM), and Six Sigma (Lean) methodologies and software practices as required
  • PMP or PgMP Certification preferred
  • Strong negotiating, influencing, and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to build, nurture, and maintain relationships with all levels of the organization from IT staff to senior/executive management
  • Knowledge and experience with statistical analysis preferred.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Acts as a subject matter expert, providing oversite, training and informal guidance to project managers and leaders to ensure the services of the PMO are leveraged and are well understood.
  • Providing expert advice on the Project Phase Review Discipline (PPRD), conducting project health checks and facilitating quality artifact development across the GIS portfolio.
  • Responsible for developing and advocating adherence to policies, procedures and training materials for the PMO in conjunction with advancing the overall maturity level and competencies of the PMO. 
  • Provides Governance and Oversight for projects and programs within the scope of the GIS PMO 
  • Facilitates, promotes and ensures active adherence to full life cycle management discipline/s for large- scale projects and programs
  • Accountable/responsible for project adherence to Governance disciplines and methodologies
  • Communicates program/project status to key stakeholders
  • Applies Organizational Change Management methodologies to advance Governance and PMO maturity within GIS
  • Assists with the planning, creation and delivery of strategic content for the PMO
  • Assists project staff with adherence to the project management discipline and corresponding completion of artifacts and work products
  • Develops and ensures the Mission/Vision of the PMO is achieved and infiltrated throughout the organization advancing PMO maturity and influence within GIS
  • Participates in project steering committee meetings
